Georgia Lottery Corporation

Georgia Lottery Corporation

The Georgia Lottery Corporation (GLC) was established in 1992 by the Lottery for Education Act (O.C.G.A. 50-27) to oversee and operate the lottery.

Our mission is to maximize revenues for the Lottery for Education Account by providing entertaining lottery products and quality customer service to our retailers and players, while maintaining the integrity of the GLC and its games.

Our office consists of approximately 250 employees statewide, under the leadership of President and CEO Margaret DeFrancisco. We are proud of our commitment to education. Since inception, more than $8.8 billion has been transferred to the Lottery for Education Account. This money has allowed more than 1 million students to attend college on a HOPE Scholarship, more than 790,000 four-year-olds to get an early start to their education in a high quality Pre-K program and $1.8 billion was used to improve Georgia's school facilities and the technology they use.
